About

I am currently seeking a full-time ministry position among churches of Christ.  I studied at Freed-Hardeman, Lipscomb, Vanderbilt, and MUW.  I have a B.A. in Bible from Lipscomb (’73).  I entered the ministry full time in 2003.  Prior to that, at various times, I operated a property/casualty independent insurance agency founded by my Dad in 1948, a small furniture manufacturing company, and a restaurant, among other things.

I am married to Debbie, who teaches 5th grade in a public school.  We have been married since 1973.  My oldest son, Eric, is an attorney in Montgomery.  His wife is Lauren. My youngest son, Austin, lives in Sulligent with his wife, Teralee and sons, Ridge and Brooks, and daughter Kinslee. He is a high school teacher and coach. My daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Stephen, with their son Benton live near Nashville where she is a medical sonographer.

Hi John. I came across your blog when I was looking for a picture of a dog-trot cabin, and found one here. I was wondering if you would be willing to let me use the photo? I am doing a documentary about this amazing 89 year old woman here in St. Paul, MN, who has one of the most extraordinary life journeys I’ve ever heard, which is why I am doing a movie about it. She mentions a dog-trot cabin during one of her adventures, and I was looking for a picture to use to show what that is.
Would you be willing to allow me to use the photo? Thank you.
